CONNIX comprises experienced individuals who have long and successful track records of providing environmental advisory services within commercial property. The two founding Directors, Gareth Condy and Paul Nixon, have collectively almost 60 years’ experience in assessing environmental risk and liability issues affecting property transactions. We understand the property industry and the pivotal role we can play to protect our clients’ interests and add meaningful value.

Director

Paul is an experienced environmental advisor with nearly 30 years’ service within the brownfield and property industry. In 2024, he co-founded CONNIX with Gareth Condy with whom he spent over 20 years building a market leading team of environmental professionals at GVA Grimley/Avison Young in Birmingham. Throughout his career, he has focused on environmental due diligence and has helped many private and public sector clients navigate the environmental issues that are encountered during property transactions. Paul has a built strong reputation with his clients who regard him as their preferred environmental advisor due to his straightforward attitude and flexible approach. Outside of work, he is a passionate angler and can usually be found up to his waist in water on the river or siting out in a lake.

Director

Gareth started his career in the mid-1990s following a year in East Africa teaching in a secondary school. Since this time, he has been employed in a number of multi-disciplinary engineering firms before moving to the Birmingham based surveying practice GVA Grimley in 2004. Here he joined Paul to grow and expand the environmental offering within GVA. Since then, Gareth has acted for a host of buyers, sellers, occupiers and developers applying his knowledge on environmental risk and management across all parts of the property cycle. Trusted by his clients, he has successfully represented them on a wide variety of projects including complex site divestments, large portfolio acquisitions, operational compliance and litigation matters. When not in the office, Gareth’s interests include sporting occasions, hand crafted guitars, a good Brummie Balti and down time with John le Carrie et al.
